Bring Forth Fruit - Psalm 1:1-3

In Psalms 1, verse 1 it says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

The Bible is saying, don't walk with people that are not with the Lord. If you do walk with people that do not walk with the Lord, you are going to start to be more and more like them, because you are listening to what they say and what they are doing, and then you are going to start believing it, and it is going to be really bad.

In verse 2 it says, “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

You need to be with the Lord, and you need to keep meditating on Him. You need to follow Him, and be thinking about Him, and understanding what He is saying.

In verse 3 it says, “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

If you're doing what the Lord says, you will be strong like a tree that is planted by the water. If you're walking with someone that is not with the Lord, you will become weaker and weaker, until you're just a tumbleweed rolling around. But if you're with the Lord, and you are with Him, and following what He says to do every step of the way, you will be strong like a tree planted by the water.
